2024 Delaware State Senate Primary Results
10 of the 21 seats in the state's upper legislative chamber are up this year.
The Democratic and Republican primaries occurred today in Delaware to select candidates for the November general election. That included the races for half of the seats in the State Senate for regular four-year terms - 10 seats overall.
The Delaware State Senate currently features 15 Democrats and 6 Republicans. Incumbents ran for re-nomination today in every district. Notably, the only contested primary was on the Republican side in District 18. It only takes a plurality of the vote for a candidate to receive their party’s nomination.

For District 6:
Incumbent Russ Huxtable won the Democratic primary unopposed.
Kimberly Hoey Stevenson won the Republican primary unopposed.
For District 10:
Incumbent Stephanie Hansen won the Democratic primary unopposed.
No candidate qualified for the Republican primary.
For District 11:
Incumbent Bryan Townsend won the Democratic primary unopposed.
No candidate qualified for the Republican primary.
For District 16:
No candidate qualified for the Democratic primary.
Incumbent Eric Buckson won the Republican primary unopposed.
For District 17:
Incumbent Trey Charles Paradee won the Democratic primary unopposed.
No candidate qualified for the Republican primary.
For District 18:
No candidate qualified for the Democratic primary.
Incumbent David Wilson won the Republican primary with 75.7% against Robert Reed with 24.3%. 4,467 votes counted.
For District 21:
No candidate qualified for the Democratic primary.
Incumbent Bryant Richardson won the Republican primary unopposed.
The general election for these 10 seats in the Delaware State Senate will occur on Tuesday, November 5.
