2024 Idaho House of Representatives Primary Results
All 70 seats of the state's lower legislative chamber are up this year.
The Democratic and Republican primaries occurred today in Idaho to select candidates for the November general election. That included the races for all 70 seats in the State House of Representatives for regular two-year terms.
The Idaho House of Representatives currently features 59 Republicans and 11 Democrats. 65 incumbents ran for re-nomination today - with open seat contests in Districts 1B, 7A, 11B, 17B, and 19A. It only takes a plurality of the vote for a candidate to receive their party’s nomination.
For District 1A:
Karen Matthee won the Democratic primary unopposed.
Incumbent Mark Sauter won the Republican primary with 49.9% against Jane Sauter with 31.6% and Spencer Hutchings with 18.5%. 15,280 votes counted.
For District 1B:
Kathryn Larson won the Democratic primary with 91.9% against Bob Vickaryous with 8.1%. 1,074 votes counted.
Cornel Rasor won the Republican primary with 52.0% against Chuck Lowman with 48.0%. 14,665 votes counted.
For District 2A:
