2024 Maine State Senate Primary Results
All 35 seats in the state's upper legislative chamber are up this year.
The Democratic and Republican primaries occurred today in Maine to select candidates for the November general election. That included the races for every seat in the State Senate for regular two-year terms.
The Maine State Senate currently features 22 Democrats and 13 Republicans. 29 incumbents ran for re-nomination today - with open seat contests in Districts 1, 15, 19, 20, 24, and 28. Ranked-choice voting was implemented in races with three or more candidates. If no one achieves a 50%+1 majority, then the last place finisher will be eliminated and their votes will be allocated to the other candidates.
