Maggie Goodlander Prevails in Democratic Primary for New Hampshire's 2nd District
Full results for the two seats in the state's delegation to the U.S. House of Representatives.
The Democratic and Republican primaries occurred today in New Hampshire to select candidates for the November general election. That included the races for the two seats in the state’s delegation to the U.S. House of Representatives for regular two-year terms.
For the 118th Congress (which runs from January 2023 to January 2025), New Hampshire is served by 2 Democrats and 0 Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives. Chris Pappas of the 1st District ran for re-nomination while Annie Kuster of the 2nd District decided to retire. It only takes a plurality of the vote for a candidate to receive their party’s nomination.
For the 1st District:
Incumbent Chris Pappas won the Democratic primary with 95.2% against Kevin Rondeau with 4.8%. 57,485 votes counted.
Russell Prescott won the Republican primary with 26.1% against Hollie Neveletsky with 23.8%, Joseph Levasseur with 23.2%, Chris Bright with 13.3%, Walter McFarlane III with 8.1%, Max Abramson with 3.3%, and Andy Martin with 2.3%. 66,760 votes counted.
For the 2nd District:
Maggie Goodlander won the Democratic primary with 63.7% against Colin Van Ostern with 36.3%. 66,329 votes counted.
Lily Tang Williams won the Republican primary with 35.5% against Vikram Mansharamani with 27.1%, Bill Hamlen with 15.9%, Paul Wagner with 3.9%, Casey Crane with 3.3%, Randall Clark with 3.0%, William Harvey with 2.8%, Jay Mercer with 2.6%, Jason Riddle with 1.5%, Robert D’Arcy with 1.2%, Gerard Beloin with 1.1%, Michael Callis with 1.0%, and Tom Alciere with 1.0%. 61,065 votes counted.
All 435 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives will be contested in the 2024 general election happening on Tuesday, November 5. The outcome will determine political control of the lower legislative chamber in the U.S. Congress.
