2024 Nevada State Senate Primary Results
10 of the 21 seats in the state's upper legislative chamber are up this year.
The Democratic and Republican primaries occurred today in Nevada to select candidates for the November general election. That included the races for half of the seats in the State Senate for regular four-year terms - 10 overall.
The Nevada State Senate currently features 13 Democrats and 8 Republicans. 6 incumbents ran for re-nomination today - with open seat contests in Districts 1, 15, 18, and 19. It only takes a plurality of the vote for a candidate to receive their party’s nomination.
For District 1:
Michelee Crawford won the Democratic primary with 53.9% against Clara Thomas with 46.1%. 8,488 votes counted.
Patricia Brinkley won the Republican primary unopposed.
For District 3:
Incumbent Rochelle Nguyen won the Democratic primary with 55.2% against Geoconda Hughes with 44.8%. 8,049 votes counted.
Brent Howard won the Republican primary unopposed.
For District 4:
Incumbent Dina Neal won the Democratic primary with 72.3% against Laura Perkins with 27.7%. 6,435 votes counted.
No candidate qualified for the Republican primary.
For District 5:
Jennifer Atlas won the Democratic primary with 66.6% against Christian Bishop with 33.4%. 8,409 votes counted.
Incumbent Carrie Buck won the Republican primary with 77.5% against Richard Frederick Auchmoody with 22.5%. 7,819 votes counted.
For District 6:
Incumbent Nicole Cannizzaro won the Democratic primary unopposed.
Jill Douglass won the Republican primary with 72.0% against Joshua Stacy with 28.0%. 7,617 votes counted.
For District 7:
Incumbent Roberta Lange won the Democratic primary unopposed.
Leo Henderson won the Republican primary unopposed.
For District 11:
Incumbent Dallas Harris won the Democratic primary unopposed.
Lori Rogich won the Republican primary with 63.2% against Brian Paonessa with 36.8%. 4,311 votes counted.
For District 15:
Angela Taylor won the Democratic primary with 64.1% against Naomi Duerr with 33.4% and Johnny Kerns with 2.4%. 10,843 votes counted.
Michael Ginsburg won the Republican primary with 50.8% against Sharron Angle with 41.8% and Charles Neumann with 7.3%. 7,984 votes counted.
For District 18:
Ronald Bilodeau won the Democratic primary with 42.9% against Iman Joseph with 34.5% and Donald Connors with 22.6%. 7,068 votes counted.
John Steinbeck won the Republican primary with 59.6% against Josh Leavitt with 23.2% and Richard McArthur with 17.2%. 9,129 votes counted.
For District 19:
No candidate qualified for the Democratic primary.
John Ellison won the Republican primary with 59.3% against William Hockstedler with 28.2% and Chelsey Fischer with 12.4%. 12,853 votes counted.
The general election for these 10 seats in the Nevada State Senate will occur on Tuesday, November 5.
