Casting News - Netflix's "Heartstopper" and "Pulse"
The Netflix medical drama casts a star from "The Boys."
NETFLIX's PULSE
Jack Bannon, Jessie T. Usher, Chelsea Muirhead, Daniela Nieves and Jessy Yates will co-star on the upcoming drama starring Justina Machado. Bannon previously starred for three seasons in Epix/Max's Pennyworth. Usher currently stars in Amazon's The Boys, which returns for its fourth season in June. Muirhead starred in the third season of Max's Warrior. Nieves starred in Peacock's one-season drama Vampire Academy. Yates guest starred on ABC's Speechless and NBC's Law & Order: SVU.
Bannon will play Tom Cole, a surgical resident. He is a witty and charming Brit who came to Miami for the excellent trauma program, but also for the lifestyle that Miami offers.
Usher will play Sam Elijah, a third-year Emergency Medicine resident. Born and raised in the Florida panhandle, he is a thoughtful and altruistic doctor who, under his calm and considered demeanor, has a competitive edge.
Muirhead will play Sophie Chan, a surgical intern. She is smart and capable and willing to endure anything in her quest to become a great surgeon.
Nieves will play Camila Perez, a third-year medical student. Despite long hours and an endless workload, she always manages to stay optimistic.
Yates will play Harper, a second-year Emergency Medicine resident and wheelchair user. She is the self-assured and introspective younger sister of Danny Simms (Willa Fitzgerald).
NETFLIX's HEARTSTOPPER
Olivia Colman will not appear in the drama's upcoming third season. She has recurred throughout the drama's first two seasons - winning an Emmy Award in 2022 for her guest performance. Her exit comes as a result of scheduling conflicts with the potential to return should the series be renewed for a fourth season.
Colman plays Sarah Nelson, Nick's (Kit Connor) mother.
