Both were approved by the Senate through unanimous consent.

Fuchs was nominated to this position by Biden in October 2023. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Fuchs has served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland since 2008. One judge officially began senior status yesterday. Biden has not yet nominated anyone to fill that vacancy.

Grimes was nominated to this position by Biden in December 2023. He held multiple positions as a law enforcement officer in Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas between 1970 and 1999 - culminating as the Sheriff of Sebastian County, Arkansas from 1989 to 1999. From 2007 to 2011, he served as Liaison to Law Enforcement and Emergency Management for Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe. Since 2011, he has been the principal owner of Grimes & Associates LLC.
