2024 Kansas State Senate Primary Results
All 40 seats in the state's upper legislative chamber are up this year.
The Democratic and Republican primaries occurred today in Kansas to select candidates for the November general election. That included the races for all 40 seats in the State Senate for regular four-year terms.
The Kansas State Senate currently features 29 Republicans and 11 Democrats. 29 incumbents ran for re-nomination today - with open seat contests in Districts 3, 17, 18, 23, 26, 31, 33, 34, 35, 37, and 39. It only takes a plurality of the vote for a candidate to receive their party’s nomination.
For District 1:
No candidate qualified for the Democratic primary.
Craig Bowser won the Republican primary with 40.7% against John Eplee with 36.5% and incumbent Dennis Pyle with 22.8%. 12,301 votes counted.
For District 2:
Incumbent Marci Francisco won the Democratic primary with 57.2% against Christina Haswood with 42.8%. 6,549 votes counted.
David Miller won the Republican primary unopposed.
For District 3:
Dena Sattler won the Democratic primary unopposed.
Rick Kloos won the Republican primary unopposed.
For District 4:
Incumbent David Haley won the Democratic primary with 57.6% against Ephren Taylor III with 42.4%. 4,381 votes counted.

Incumbent Jeff Pittman won the Democratic primary unopposed.
Jeff Klemp won the Republican primary with 59.4% against Echo Van Meteren with 40.6%. 5,283 votes counted.
