Ramin Fatehi Secures Re-Nomination for Norfolk Commonwealth's Attorney
Democrats and Republicans selected their candidates for various city and county offices today.
The Democratic and Republican primaries occurred today across Virginia to select candidates for numerous county offices. The results from some of the state’s most populous cities and counties can be found here. The general election for all of these races will occur on November 4, 2025.
Arlington County Board of Supervisors:
For Chair:
Incumbent Takis Karantonis won the Democratic primary with 64.1% (16,091) against James DeVita with 35.9% (8,998). 25,089 votes counted.

Jennifer Naperala won the Democratic primary unopposed.
Incumbent Victoria Proffitt won the Republican primary unopposed.
For Commonwealth’s Attorney:
Incumbent Matthew Hamel won the Democratic primary unopposed.
David Mick won the Republican primary unopposed.
For Sheriff:
No candidate qualified for the Democratic primary.
Wallace Chadwick III won the Republican primary with 58.2% (7,329) against incumbent Dave Rosado with 41.8% (5,252). 12,581 votes counted.
For Treasurer:

Wendy Roenker won the Republican primary unopposed.

Shannon Jones won the Democratic primary with 57.2% (7,054) against incumbent Howard Gwynn with 42.8% (5,279). 12,333 votes counted.
