Christina Stephenson Re-Elected as Oregon Commissioner of Labor
Oregon also had partisan primaries for Governor today.
The Democratic and Republican primaries occurred today in Oregon to select candidates for Governor in the November 2026 general election. Furthermore, the Beaver State conducted the nonpartisan general election for Labor Commissioner today as only two candidates qualified for the race. Additionally, the state has a contest for the Supreme Court this year as well as a ballot measure today. The general election for Oregon Governor and Supreme Court will be held on November 3, 2026.
Governor:
Incumbent Tina Kotek won the Democratic primary with 86.7% (326,627) against nonprofit founder Brittany Jones with 2.9% (11,0487), activist Forest Alexander with 2.6% (9,636), policy consultant Miranda Weigler with 2.2% (8,317), volunteer firefighter Tristan Sheppard with 1.4% (5,079), inventor James Atkinson IV with 1.3% (4,982), salesperson David Beem with 1.1% (4,217), author Steve Laible with 0.8% (3,174), business owner Cal Kishawi with 0.5% (2,049), and coach Donnie Beckwith with 0.4% (1,573). 376,702 votes counted.
2022 nominee Christine Drazan won the Republican primary with 41.6% (152,035) against State Representative Ed Diehl with 32.9% (120,348), 2010 nominee Chris Dudley with 16.5% (60,472), pardoned January 6th rioter David Medina with 4.9% (18,001), Marion County Commissioner Danielle Bethell with 2.2% (7,967), engineer Brad Peters with 0.4% (1,600), educator Paul Romero with 0.4% (1,369), genomics researcher Kyle Duyck with 0.4% (1,328), business manager Robert Neuman with 0.2% (582), activist Martin Ward with 0.1% (473), Hope Dalrymple with 0.1% (465), pastor DeAngelo Turner with 0.1% (310), educator Wen Waddell with 0.1% (281), and Tim Youker with 0.1% (216). 365,447 votes counted.
Labor Commissioner (Nonpartisan):
Incumbent Christina Stephenson won with 62.5% (366,834) against former Bureau of Labor investigator Chris Lynch with 37.5% (220,033). 586,867 votes counted.
Supreme Court (Nonpartisan):
For Position 4, incumbent Chris Garrett won unopposed.
Ballot Measure (0 Passed, 1 Rejected):
For Referendum 120 (Increase the state’s gas tax, payroll tax, and vehicle registration fees), No won with 83.3% (779,968) against Yes with 16.7% (155,886). 935,854 votes counted.
