Carrie Coon Joins Season 3 of HBO's "The White Lotus"
Coon becomes the seventh new actor cast for the upcoming installment.
Carrie Coon is expanding her relationship with HBO. Today, she became the latest cast addition for the upcoming third installment of the Emmy-winning series The White Lotus. Production on the new season will begin in Thailand in February 2024.
Coon joins a cast including Leslie Bibb, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Dom Hetrakul, Tayme Thapthimthong and returning Season 1 star Natasha Rothwell for the third installment.
As with the other casting for the new season, no details were immediately announced about the character Coon will be playing.
Coon currently stars in HBO’s The Gilded Age, which has been renewed for a third season. She previously starred for three seasons in HBO’s The Leftovers, in the third season of FX’s Fargo, and in the second season of USA’s The Sinner. She was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2017 for her performance in Fargo.
In 2013, Coon was nominated for a Tony Award for her featured role in the play Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. She also currently stars in the Ghostbusters film franchise - next appearing in the upcoming installment Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, which will be released on March 22, 2024.
Coon’s casting comes after the drama won 4 Emmy Awards during the Creative Arts ceremony over the week. The drama received 24 Emmy nominations for its second installment. The remaining awards will be handed out during the primetime ceremony next Monday.
