Félix Auger-Aliassime Claims ATP Title at 2025 Adelaide International
The Canadian battled Sebastian Korda of the United States in the final.
Félix Auger-Aliassime of Canada, 24, defeated Sebastian Korda of the United States, 24, to win the Men’s Singles title at the 2025 Adelaide International in Adelaide, Australia (an ATP 250 event). The score in the final was 6-3, 3-6 and 6-1 in favor of Auger-Aliassime.
This was the fourth match Auger-Aliassime and Korda have played against each other on the ATP Tour - with Auger-Aliassime leading 2-1 in their prior meetings. Today’s victory was the first title Auger-Aliassime has won on the 2025 ATP Tour and the sixth title of his career in single’s competition. All of his titles have been claimed from hard court events. Moreover, this was his third title from a 250-level tournament. And finally, he becomes the first player representing Canada to win the title in Adelaide since the event joined the tour in 2020.
Heading into this tournament, Korda was ranked as the Number 22 tennis player on the 2025 ATP Tour, while Auger-Aliassime carried the Number 29 designation. By winning in Adelaide, Auger-Aliassime has received 250 points in the overall rankings. Meanwhile, Korda has picked up 165 points.
Jiří Lehečka of the Czech Republic (No. 24) was the tournament’s reigning champion. He withdrew from the main draw this year after winning the title at the Brisbane International last week. Meanwhile, Korda and Auger-Aliassime were the event’s second and fifth seeds, respectively. Both players received byes into the second round of competition.
Auger-Aliassime arrived in the final after winning against Arthur Cazaux of France (No. 80), Marcos Giron of the United States (No. 45), and top seed Tommy Paul of the United States (No. 12). This was the 16th ATP final he has contested.
In the other half of the main draw, Korda defeated Alejandro Davidovich Fokina of Spain (No. 68), wildcard Thanasi Kokkinakis of Australia (No. 77), and Miomir Kecmanović of Serbia (No. 55). This was the ninth ATP final he has competed in.
The revised rankings for the 2025 ATP Tour will be officially released on Monday, January 12. From January 12-26, the ATP and WTA Tours will compete in the first Grand Slam of the year: the Australian Open in Melbourne, Australia. The competition will be played on hard courts.
Jannik Sinner of Italy (No. 1) is the reigning champion at the Australian Open. He is looking to defend a Grand Slam title for the first time in his career. As the top seed, he will play against Nicolás Jarry of Chile (No. 34) in the first round.
Korda and Auger-Aliassime have also entered the main draw of the Grand Slam as the 22nd and 29th seeds, respectively. In the first round, Korda will battle qualifier Lukáš Klein of Slovakia (No. 145) while Auger-Aliassime will face off against Jan-Lennard Struff of Germany (No. 42).
