Former Civil Prosecutor Jennifer L. Hall Confirmed as Federal Judge in Delaware
Hall becomes the 146th nominee by President Joe Biden to be confirmed as a federal judge.
The U.S. Senate today held a recorded vote to confirm one individual as an Article III federal judge. With this confirmation, 146 judges nominated by President Joe Biden have now been confirmed by the Senate. With today’s action, 109 of Biden’s judicial nominees have been approved for service on federal district courts.
In a 67-29 vote, Jennifer L. Hall was confirmed as a Judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. She is Biden’s second confirmation to the 4-person court, with no additional vacancies at this time.
Hall assumes the Wilmington-based seat currently held by Richard G. Andrews, who will take senior status in December 2023. A nominee of President Barack Obama, Andrews has served on this court since November 2011. Hall was nominated to this seat on the federal judiciary by Biden in July 2023.
Hall served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Delaware from 2011 to 2019 - operating as the Chief of the Civil Division from 2015 to 2019. Since 2019, she has served as a U.S. Magistrate Judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
