Former Lieutenant Governor Kate Marshall Tops Mayoral Contest in Reno, Nevada
Primaries in Clark and Washoe Counties are detailed below as well as mayoral elections in Henderson, North Las Vegas, Reno, and Sparks.
The Democratic and Republican primaries occurred today in Nevada to select candidates for the November 2026 general election. This post covers the races for county positions in the state’s two most-populous counties - Clark and Washoe. It also features the nonpartisan mayoral contests in Henderson, North Las Vegas, Reno, and Sparks. Separate posts will be covering the primaries for federal races, statewide executive offices, and both chambers of the state legislature.
The general election for these county positions in Nevada’s main population centers will be held on November 3, 2026.
Clark County Board of Commissioners:
District E:
Incumbent Richard Segerblom won the Democratic primary with 56.8% (8,263) against organizer Marco Hernandez with 43.2% (6,278). 14,541 votes counted.
Business owner Manny Kess won the Republican primary with 57.7% (4,261) against 2022 Independent candidate Randy Rose with 27.2% (2,010) and perennial candidate Eddie Hamilton with 15.1% (1,117). 7,388 votes counted.
District F:
Professor Minjia Yan won the Democratic primary with 37.9% (7,104) against nonprofit founder Minddie Lloyd with 22.7% (4,257), attorney Lenna Hovanessian with 16.3% (3,067), regional sales manager Serena Kumar with 11.3% (2,113), mechanical engineer Sebastian Crawford with 6.4% (1,205), attorney Michael Wall with 3.1% (587), and marketing consultant Justin Lieberknecht with 2.3% (436). 18,769 votes counted.
State Assemblymember Heidi Kasama won the Republican primary with 53.7% (8,128) against entrepreneur Albert Mack with 46.3% (7,010). 15,138 votes counted.
District G:
Incumbent James Brinley Gibson won the Democratic primary with 56.9% (11,346) against civic engagement advocate Christian Solomon with 43.1% (8,599). 19,945 votes counted.
Physician Jonathan Maxham won the Republican primary with 66.1% (9,875) against bus operator Leo Henderson with 33.9% (5,062). 14,937 votes counted.

Appraisal technician Tamicka Washington won the Democratic primary with 50.7% (62,580) against Assessment Services deputy director Melissa Martinet with 49.3% (60,927). 123,507 votes counted.
Former federal worker Judy Joe won the Republican primary with 53.0% (45,077) against former school board trustee Kevin Child with 47.0% (40,017). 85,094 votes counted.
Clerk:
Incumbent Lynn Goya won the Democratic primary with 78.7% (96,211) against realtor Jeff Miller with 21.3% (26,101). 122,312 votes counted.
Entrepreneur Howell Shaw won the Republican primary.
District Attorney:
Incumbent Steven Wolfson won the Democratic primary.
No candidate qualified for the Republican primary.
Public Administrator:
Deputy Attorney General Stephanie Itkin-Goodman won the Democratic primary with 65.5% (79,845) against private administrator Edgar Velazquez with 20.7% (25,197) and communications director Marlin Ivy with 13.9% (16,923). 121,965 votes counted.
Retired police officer Patrick Murphy won the Republican primary with 66.5% (56,269) against legislative staffer Mark Sprinkle with 20.3% (17,222) and realtor Donald Salazar with 13.2% (11,190). 84,681 votes counted.

State Assemblymember Tanya Flanagan won the Democratic primary with 58.0% (71,519) against office services manager Skye Berry Burress with 22.1% (27,174) and realtor Anna Perez with 19.9% (24,571). 123,264 votes counted.
Former County Sheriff William Young won the Republican primary with 74.7% (63,244) against IT professional Rana Saeed with 25.3% (21,439). 84,683 votes counted.

Incumbent Kevin McMahill won unopposed.

Business executive Jonathan Killoran won the Republican primary with 56.3% (6,038) against incumbent Michael Clark with 43.7% (4,682). 10,720 votes counted.
District 3:
Incumbent Marialuz Garcia won the Democratic primary.
Business owner Troy Regas won the Republican primary.
District 5:
Tribal leader Brian Wadsworth won the Democratic primary.
Navy veteran Perry Pierce won the Republican primary with 56.9% (4,212) against business owner Katherine Yriarte with 27.0% (2,002) and event planner Tammy Holt-Still with 16.1% (1,194). 7,408 votes counted.

In Henderson, incumbent Michelle Romero and former police chief Hollie Chadwick will advance with 49.8% (29,005) and 23.0% (13,416) against business owner Adam Price with 21.4% (12,487), sales consultant Andrew Ramirez with 3.2% (1,840), and interior designer Angeles Scorsetti with 2.6% (1,547). 58,295 votes counted.
In North Las Vegas, State Assemblymember Daniele Monroe-Moreno and City Councilmember Scott Black will advance with 47.1% (13,787) and 41.6% (12,183) against business owner Henry Thorns with 4.8% (1,403), nonprofit founder Zaire Langdon with 3.4% (1,001), and business owner Gary Bouchard with 3.1% (923). 29,297 votes counted.
In Reno, former Lieutenant Governor Kate Marshall and City Councilmember Kathleen Taylor will advance with 44.8% (22,354) and 19.0% (9,495) against 2018/22 runner-up Eddie Lorton with 18.2% (9,096), City Councilmember Devon Reese with 9.3% (4,647), retired police sergeant Tim Ross with 4.4% (2,202), bartender Greg Nuttle with 1.7% (852), business owner Corinthia Yancey with 1.3% (631), podcaster John Wayne Zink with 0.6% (304), and construction laborer Jesse Razo with 0.6% (300). 49,881 votes counted.
In Sparks, incumbent Ed Lawson and business owner Wendi Rawson will advance with 34.8% (6,660) and 26.9% (5,135) against HR manager Diana Mackey with 19.2% (3,672) and City Councilmember Charlene Bybee with 19.1% (3,651). 19,118 votes counted.
