Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo to Face Attorney General Aaron Ford This Fall

The Democratic and Republican primaries occurred today in Nevada to select candidates for the November 2026 general election. This post covers the races for statewide executive offices in the Silver State. That includes the contests for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Controller, and Treasurer as well as two seats on the Supreme Court. Separate posts will be covering the primaries for federal races, both chambers of the state legislature, and county contests.
The general election for all of these statewide executive offices will be held on November 3, 2026.
Governor:
Attorney General Aaron Ford won the Democratic primary with 66.0% (118,503) against Washoe County Commissioner Alexis Hill with 24.8% (44,573), community advocate James Cooper with 3.7% (6,624), medical supervisor Sunshine Arterburn with 2.8% (4,972), businessman Emile Bouari with 1.5% (2,778), and onsite manager Miqehl Bayfield with 1.2% (2,153). 179,603 votes counted.
Incumbent Joe Lombardo won the Republican primary with 92.9% (171,457) against business owner Irina Hansen with 2.2% (4,100), businessman Matthew Winterhawk with 1.9% (3,422), AI executive Donald Beaudry Jr. with 1.3% (2,463), nonprofit founder M. Kameron Hawkins with 0.7% (1,221), entrepreneur Jose Zelaya with 0.6% (1,087), and real estate investor Barak Zilberberg with 0.4% (741). 184,491 votes counted.
Lieutenant Governor:
State Assemblymember Sandra Jauregui won the Democratic primary with 64.6% (108,971) against nurse practitioner Courtney Burke with 22.5% (37,962) and entertainer BridgieNix Scheiner with 12.8% (21,642). 168,575 votes counted.
Incumbent Stavros Anthony won the Republican primary.
Attorney General:
State Senator Nicole Cannizzaro won the Democratic primary with 63.3% (112,122) against State Treasurer Zach Conine with 36.7% (64,997). 177,119 votes counted.
Cannabis Compliance Board chair Adriana Guzmán Fralick won the Republican primary with 63.5% (111,496) against Douglas County Commissioner Danny Tarkanian with 36.5% (64,116). 175,612 votes counted.
Secretary of State:
Incumbent Cisco Aguilar won the Democratic primary.
2022 nominee Jim Marchant won the Republican primary with 35.1% (58,628) against businesswoman Shirley Folkins-Roberts with 33.0% (55,050), former State Assemblymember Sharron Angle with 28.3% (47,162), and business owner Socorro Keenan with 3.6% (6,070). 166,910 votes counted.
Controller:
Teacher Michael MacDougall won the Democratic primary with 51.4% (80,311) against engineer Robert Blackstock with 37.5% (58,678) and Navy veteran Robert Tolle with 11.1% (17,316). 156,305 votes counted.
Incumbent Andy Matthews won the Republican primary.
Treasurer:
Deputy Treasurer Tya Mathis-Coleman won the Democratic primary with 58.7% (100,819) against State Assemblymember Joe Dalia with 32.6% (55,969) and educator Jay Maharjan with 8.7% (14,896). 171,684 votes counted.
Marketing consultant Drew Johnson won the Republican primary with 50.9% (80,513) against investor Jeff Carter with 49.1% (77,786). 158,299 votes counted.
Supreme Court (Nonpartisan):
For Seat B, incumbent Kris Pickering will advance.
For Seat D, incumbent Douglas Herndon will advance.
