The Democratic and Republican primaries occurred today in Arizona to select candidates for the November 2026 general election. This post covers the races for county positions in four of the state’s most-populous counties. That includes Maricopa, Pima, Pinal, and Yavapai Counties. It also features the nonpartisan mayoral contests in Chandler, Goodyear, and Yuma. All of which will be decided today as only two candidates qualified for all three contests. Separate posts will be covering the primaries for federal races, statewide executive offices, and both chambers of the state legislature.
The general election for these county positions in Arizona will be held on November 3, 2026.

Camp Verde mayor Marie Moore won the Republican primary with 57.6% (4,598) against production & safety supervisor Wiley Cline with 42.4% (3,386). 7,984 votes counted.
Superior Court Clerk:
No candidate qualified for the Democratic primary.
Court coordinator Charlie Van Landingham won the Republican primary.
Mayors (Nonpartisan):
In Chandler, City Councilmember Matt Orlando won with 58.5% (25,319) against State Representative Jeff Weninger with 41.5% (17,991). 43,310 votes counted.
In Goodyear, incumbent Joe Pizzillo won with 77.5% (12,484) against City Councilmember Bill Stipp with 22.5% (3,622). 16,106 votes counted.
In Yuma, incumbent Douglas Nicholls won with 84.5% (7,335) against write-in candidate Carlos Adams with 15.5% (1,348). 8,683 votes counted.
