The Democratic and Republican primaries occurred today in Arizona to select candidates for the November 2026 general election. This post covers the races for all 30 seats in the State Senate. District 1:
Psychologist Christine Dargon won the Democratic primary.
Incumbent Mark Finchem won the Republican primary.
District 2:
Professor Amelia Gallitano won the Democratic primary with 77.4% (11,453) against former FAA safety inspector Daniel Toporek with 22.6% (3,347). 14,800 votes counted.
Incumbent Shawnna Bolick won the Republican primary with 71.4% (11,617) against community advocate Timothy Ferrara with 28.6% (4,645). 16,262 votes counted.
District 3:
Cave Creek school board member Jeff Fortney won the Democratic primary.
Incumbent John Kavanagh won the Republican primary with 85.2% (35,902) against activist Robert Wallace with 14.8% (6,224). 42,126 votes counted.
District 4:
Former State Representative Aaron Lieberman won the Democratic primary.
Incumbent Carine Werner won the Republican primary.
District 5:
Former State Senator Christine Marsh won the Democratic primary.

Former State Senator Jamescita Peshlakai won the Democratic primary with 56.3% (15,826) against State Representative Myron Tsosie with 43.7% (12,291). 28,117 votes counted.
